Toni Davis - Counselor

My name is Toni Davis.  I am the school counselor at Carver Learning Center.  I have a wonderful husband and 3 children.  My husband is the Head Football Coach at Central High School.  I am the proud mother of 3 children who are 26, 23, and 16 years of age.  My 26 year old son is a coach and teacher at Calallen Middle School.  I also have a 23 year old son who works in the oilfield, and I have a 16 year old daughter who attends Central High School.  I was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas where I graduated High School at Tuloso-Midway High School.  My college degrees include a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Special Education at Texas A&M Kingsville, a master’s degree in Library Science at SHSU, and I’m certified in Guidance and Counseling from ASU.

My goal this year is to help your child with individual needs to be a successful and productive citizen as they go through the many stages of their life. Some of these goals include helping them graduate from high school and to be a productive citizen after graduation, whether it be to attend college or go straight into the work force.

I’m looking forward to working with your child.  Feel free to contact me at any time.

Karla McCallie - Counselor

My name is Karla McCallie.  I am the Transitional Counselor. I started at Carver Learning Center in 2016.  I work with all students on campus but primarily the long term students.  I want to make their transition back to their home campus as smooth as possible. I communicate with parents and the student’s Counselor, Assistant Principal and At-risk Coordinator on their home campus when they are close to being released from Carver.  I also communicate closely with teachers at Carver and make sure that students have completed withdrawal grades.

I thoroughly enjoy meeting each student. I love to explore career options with them. I check student’s academic credits and help them see where they are in their education career. Best of all, I love to listen to them and begin to see their hearts. I am happy to help a student any way I can to further them along into a productive young adult life.

I have had a great career in education with over 30 years of teaching and counseling students. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education at West Texas A&M University, a Master’s Degree in School Counseling at Sul Ross State University. I also achieved a Principal’s Certification at Angelo State University. My teaching career began with Elementary PE, then 6th grade, and finally 4th grade. I have counseled at the elementary, junior high and high school levels. I have also worked several years with At-Risk students, specifically. They are my passion!

My husband, Brent, and I relocated to San Angelo in 2015 and we love living here!  Our son, Cade, is a junior at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas.

I feel truly blessed to be a part of the Carver Learning Center family.
