Yvonne Busenlehner - ELA

Greetings and Salutations! My name is Yvonne Busenlehner, and I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to join this amazing team. My educational career began as a mom and blossomed into tutoring students at my daughter’s elementary campus. From this experience, I found a passion in helping students achieve goals that they once felt were impossible. I went back to college and obtained a Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling while also working to acquire my teacher certification. I’ve been teaching now for 7 years, and I’ve loved every second of it. I believe that every child deserves someone who will stand beside them and guide them through this rigorous thing we call life!

Clarisa Elliott - Elementary

Hi! My name is Clarisa Flores and this is my second year teaching. I graduated from Angelo State University in the summer of 2016 with a degree in English. My future career was unknown to me at the time but I was lucky enough to land a position in SAISD and I spent the 2016-2017 school year as a Special Education aide at Reagan Elementary. My goal then was to continue at ASU to pursue a post-degree Teacher Certification. However, that proved to be too intensive for me and my work and family situations, so I opted for the alternative route via iTeach. I hope to show our students that even if you take a detour, you can still end up where you are supposed to be! For me, all roads have led me to Carver.

Diana Faulkner - Special Programs

My name is Diana Faulkner and this will be my first year as a special education teacher at Carver Learning Center. I have a Masters Degree in Sports Administration from Texas Woman's University. In addition, I have a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology with a minor in English from Angelo State University. My hobbies include anything outdoors including: hiking, camping, kayaking and biking. Additionally, I have a passion for traveling. I have visited multiple places around the US and Central America. Equally, I have a passion for helping students and ensuring they are successful regardless of the circumstances effecting their lives. I look forward to continuing to pursue this passion at Carver Learning Center.

My husband Clint and I are very excited to be a part of the San Angelo community and Carver family!

Bailen Gomez - Math

My name is Bailen Gomez, and this is my 4th year teaching! I'm so excited for the opportunity to be at Carver Learning Center this year.  Loving kids, teaching them, and showing them that everyday is a new beginning is another reason why I CHOSE to be here! I look forward to the differences we'll be seeing in not only our students, but ourselves. The sky is the limit, all things are possible, and the best is yet to come!

Crystal Morales - History

Hello my name is Crystal Morales and I’m my first year as the Elementary teacher at Carver Learning Center Elementary. Being raised in El Paso, Texas gave me the tools to work with our community area students. I attended the University of Texas in El Paso and El Paso Community College. My husband Michael and I are raising our two beautiful young girls.  While in El Paso I tutored AVID students and Credited Redemption for two years at Ysleta High School.

The last three years I was the Instructional Aide at our very own Lake View High School, working  alongside the amazing history staff on campus.  I love to travel , capture great moments through a lens and experience new swimming holes in Texas, when I’m not teaching your little one.  Be assured that in my classroom your child will have a safe haven no matter how big or little they are. Knowledge is Power.

David Robbins - PE

Hi! My name is David Robbins, or Coach to our students.  I have been teaching PE here at Carver since 2011, and have been  in education since 1978. Most of my years in education have been teaching PE.  I was not born in San Angel, but I was raised here, attending Santa Rita, Glenn, and graduated from Central in 1973.  After Central, I moved on to Angelo State University and graduated in 1978 with a BS in Health and Physical Education and a minor in History.  I have taught in several different cities and different parts of the state of Texas, but San Angelo is home and now Carver is my educational home.

Bonnie Smith - Science

Hi! My name is Bonnie Smith and I am so excited to be the Science teacher at Carver Learning Center. I grew up in San Angelo and graduated from Central High School many years ago. This is my twenty sixth year in education as a science teacher and also a background in coaching. I consider teaching not as a career, but as an ongoing adventure. I am grateful to be at Carver and am looking forward to help students grow, as well as the opportunity for self growth. This is going to be an amazing year!!
