As the Instructional Coach at Austin Elementary, I support, coach, and mentor teachers as they set goals for their classroom, vary their instructional approach, identify and provide instructional interventions, and foster a healthy learning environment rich with life long learners. I also manage student programs such as Breakfast Managers Club, KBark Live- Our campus news show, and BWC- Bulldog Welcome committe, as well as many other technology programs, and instructional programs used to help students grow in their knowledge skills.

As we strive for being the best we can be, we have learned that goal setting is a very useful tool for both teacher and student. Let me share with you what Goal Setting is about.

What does S.M.A.R.T. goal setting stand for?

Why not think of a small goal you want to set right now, personal or professional. To make your goal S.M.A.R.T., it needs to conform to the following criteria: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely.Setting Goals with students is one of the most powerful, effective, strategy you could do.
