Meet Our Principal

Dr. John Rueter

Dr. Rueter has been in education for 28 years at every level serving in Pflugerville, Thorndale, Florence, and now San Angelo. He holds BS and MS degrees from Southwest Texas State University and a doctorate in educational leadership from The University of Texas. He is excited and proud to be a part of the storied McGill Elementary School staff. He brings experience and a love for children to his new post at McGill.

A native Austinite, Dr. Rueter is new to San Angelo, but loves everything out in west Texas. When not at school, Dr. Rueter enjoys reading, fishing, bird hunting, attending any and all sporting events, and all things Texas Longhorn.

Dr. Rueter and his wife, Dr. Jana Rueter, have five children: two who are teachers, one is a student at Texas Tech, and two more who are SAISD students.

Please check out the McGill Mustangs on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.

You can always email Dr. Rueter or call McGill Elementary with any questions or comments. We encourage communication from parents and welcome input from all of our constituents.
