Synthesis is when you combine the information from two or more text and create something new from it.

This week we are synthesizing information from "A Long Walk to Water" and World News. The students will create a poster explaining how one text supports the other.

Next we week we will survey the 6th graders about their Halloween preferences, and then they will create bar graphs. They will read the information, synthesize it with their own experiences and create an informative paragraph for me.

We will also read a Part II of "A Long Walk to Water." The test for Synthesis will be synthesizing the two parts of "A Long Walk to Water" with their own lives.
